Privacy

This page is about usecarrots.com, the website you are reading. It is not about the Carrots platform itself: if you are a buyer using a distributor’s ordering portal, your relationship is with that distributor, and their privacy policy governs your data.

Two things. What you type into the enquiry form: your name, work email, business name, and whichever optional details you choose to give us about your role, category, account numbers, ERP and question. And anonymous analytics about how the site is used, described below.

The form also records how long the page was open before you submitted it, and includes a hidden field that only automated scripts fill in. Both exist to reject spam and neither is kept with your enquiry.

If you register for a store rather than an enquiry, we also keep the web address you chose and, until you confirm it, a one-way hash of the link we emailed you. Nothing is created until you open that link, so a registration you never confirm leaves nothing but a row we delete when the link expires.

That form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which loads on the registration page only and is not loaded anywhere else on this site. Google receives your IP address and information about how you interacted with the page, and uses it to tell people from scripts. We use it because an unprotected form lets a script send confirmation emails to addresses that never asked for them. Google’s privacy policy and terms apply to that. It is a security measure rather than analytics, so it is not behind the cookie choice below: without it the form cannot tell whether you are a person.

We use it to reply to you and to prepare for that conversation. We do not sell it, we do not trade it, and we will not add you to a mailing list because you asked us a question.

Your enquiry is stored in our own systems, hosted in Australia, and is visible to the small team who would be responding to you.

This site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read. It sets cookies in your browser and collects your approximate location from your IP address, the pages you view, and roughly what device and browser you are on.

We use it to work out which of our pages are useful. We do not use it to build an advertising profile of you, and this site carries no advertising or retargeting tags.

None of it loads until you say yes. We ask once, in a banner at the bottom of the page, and until you accept there is no request to Google and no cookie set — not even a silent one. Declining changes nothing about how the site works.
